“Act justly and … love mercy and … walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

Justice and Responsibility

“Act justly and … love mercy and … walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

Justice is one of our seven Christian values because God’s love is for all people, and loving others means standing up for fairness. Through our vision, we want every child to understand that they can make a difference, and to put God’s love into action in our school, in Harrow and in the wider world.

Speaking out for what is right
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” (Proverbs 31:8)

We encourage our pupils to have the courage to speak out about issues that matter to them, and to do so respectfully and peacefully. When a large development, known locally as “Tesco Towers”, was proposed opposite our school, Year 6 pupils wrote to our local MP to share their views and explain how it could affect our community. Our School Council made banners for a peaceful protest, learning that their voices count and that change happens when people stand up together for their community. Through experiences like these, our children learn how to put our values of justice and courage into action as active, responsible citizens.

Supporting charities
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these … you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Each year we support charities, locally and around the world. Recently we have supported our local food bank through our Harvest collection, the Royal British Legion through poppy sales, and Macmillan Cancer Support through coffee mornings for parents. Pupils learn why these causes matter, as well as raising money for them.

Pupil voice and leadership
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” (Mark 10:43)

Our School Council gives pupils from every class a real say in school life. Councillors gather their classmates’ ideas, meet regularly with Miss Abukar, and have recently discussed improving playtimes and lunch options. In Year 6, pupils take on leadership roles such as Sports Leaders and Spiritual Ambassadors, serving and supporting younger children across the school.

Caring for God’s creation
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” (Psalm 24:1)

We believe we are called to look after the world God has made. In our Global Citizens after-school club, pupils learn how their choices affect people and the planet. We have air filtration units in our classrooms, and an air quality monitor just outside the school, which is part of Harrow Council’s monitoring network.
